Thermochemical conversion in dual fluidized bed (DFB) systems is a potential alternative to the recycling of abundantly available plastic waste. The development oxygen transport DFB most cases unavoidable due transition metal content material as well fraction waste stream. This work investigates influence oxide-induced on thermochemical high-density polyethylene, model feedstock, bubbling reactor. Conversion reactor at 700 °C was investigated using four different materials that had concentrations iron oxide. share carbon oxides among gaseous products increased with an increase oxide material. yield light olefinic and paraffinic compounds decreased bed. presence significantly formation rates aromatic solid deposits observed shift product distribution follows dehydrogenation-type reaction mechanism. • Bed bear metals affect polyethylene significantly. Presence leads oxidation hydrogen atoms feed. Oxidation H/C ratio < 2. Dehydrogenation chain via OH radicals speculated.
